Environment, Community Engagement and Heritage Services

We offer a range of services for organisations working to support environmental conservation, sustainability and heritage.

Our work includes:

  • Evaluation of programmes and projects, including close co-design with NLHF grant recipients of evaluation activities, ongoing process evaluation partnerships for live programmes/projects and summative evaluation at the end of delivery. We deliver our evaluation work throughout England and Wales.

  • Management consultancy support to organisations in response to strategic development and resilience planning. Our recent resilience support under the National Lottery Heritage Fund includes supporting the Frozen Ark, a conservation charity aiming to protect endangered species through innovative biobanking methods and the Peak District National Park Authority’s Moors for the Future Partnership.

We are currently the evaluation partners for a number of National Lottery Heritage Fund and Lottery Community Fund programmes, including the Herefordshire Wildlife Trust’s ‘Restoring Bartonsham Meadows’ floodplain conservation programme and the ‘Large Heath Recovery’ Welsh Butterfly Conservation progamme.

2025

The 'Reviving Our Traditional Woodland' project, led by Pigshill & Clarrick Woods CIC, aimed to enhance accessibility, biodiversity, and community engagement within a 66-acre woodland on the Rame Peninsula, Cornwall.

Funded by £170,000 from the Shared Prosperity Fund, the project delivered key outputs, including upgrading over 2,000 metres of tracks, improving access points, installing signage, creating picnic areas, and purchasing essential equipment such as a vehicle and mobile sawmill. These improvements facilitated sustainable woodland management, increased visitor footfall, and supported community wellbeing through volunteering, training, and educational activities. The initiative also strengthened partnerships with local organisations and conservation groups, promoting inclusivity and environmental sustainability.

Blinkbright Ltd played a pivotal role in evaluating the project, producing a comprehensive report that assessed its impact, benefits, and legacy. Their evaluation included stakeholder consultations, community surveys, visitor audits, and recommendations for future development, ensuring the project's success and alignment with strategic objectives.
